Jeremy Darnell Obituary
Publish in a newspaper
at the age of 49. He was born October 20, 1975 to Thomas and Brenda Darnell and was a
West Memphis High School Blue Devil that graduated in 1993.
He went on to marry Leigh Ann Blackford (Atkins) in 1995. They divorced in 1999, but
had three children. Jeremy worked as a locksmith both commercially and with his
father, for their business "A & B Lock and Key," until the passing of his father in 2023.
He had a deep love for the arts, performing in his school's theater production of
"Grease," and later on as an adult, starred as Ebenezer Scrooge in a community
production of "A Christmas Carol." He was a talented guitar player, who loved music–
specifically his favorite bands, Cinderella and Nickelback. He loved movies, some of his
favorites including "Pulp Fiction," Christian Bales' "Batman" series, and "The Breakfast
Club."
JT, as he was affectionately known, had a close relationship with God, completing daily
devotionals and bible studies that he would share with his children whenever he could.
His journey on this earth was one marked by love, an unwavering faith in God, but also
with pain. We ask that you remember him not for his mistakes but for the love in his
heart and the laughter that only he could give.
Jeremy is preceded in death by both of his parents, and his sister Andrea Faith Darnell.
He is survived by his sister, Lesley Darnell of Dickson, TN. And his three daughters,
Darian Williams of Milan, TN and Natalie and Gracie Darnell, both of West Memphis,
AR. His granddaughter, Gabriella Williams of Milan, TN. And his nieces and nephews,
Nicholas Kennedy of Humboldt, TN, Chelsea Darnell of Milan, TN, and Chandler
Sanders of Munford, TN. And his long-term partner, Christine Simon of Memphis, TN.
The family will receive friends at the Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan, TN Friday July 25,
2025 at 2pm, with visitation beginning at 1:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations to be made in his name to "Called2Grow," a
faith-based organization dedicated to fostering addiction recovery and spiritual growth
in Crittenden County, AR.

Jeremy was a good friend. Condolences to his loved ones.
I´ve got good memories of sharing laughter and cutting-up in class with him at WMHS. I remember his acting ability was so impressive. Once, during drama class, Jeremy and I acted together in a scene from The Breakfast Club. Jeremy played Andrew in the scene, I played Bender. Jeremy was able to access an incredible depth of emotion during the scene. I watched in awe as tears flowed down his face while he delivered his lines. He was fully immersed in the character and the moment. Jeremy was a natural.
Life took us in different directions, and I lost track of Jeremy when we graduated high school.
I was lucky to have run into Jeremy a short time ago while he was working in Memphis. We reminisced and shared some good laughs during our all too brief conversation. I´m sad that we will never have the chance to meet up again.
