James (Jim) Cole Reaves of Watkinsville, GA lost his hard fought 15 year battle with multiple cancers and went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 5,2023.
Jim retired from McKinney's Inc. of Atlanta, GA in 2007 after 28 years of devoted service. In recent years, he loved spending time with his beloved wife of 53 years Martha, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a devoted family man who prior to his diagnosis enjoyed coaching league level softball, riding his motorcycle, hunting and fishing in his spare time. In more recent years he imparted on his grandchildren and great grandchildren his love of all things fishing. Jim never met a stranger and loved the social aspects of his life, he worked diligently to provide for his family in his work and home life. He was also the first to volunteer to help family, friends or strangers with whatever was needed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Virginia Cole Reaves and Archie James Reaves of Snellville, GA and his brother, Carey (Yogi) Reaves of Rockmart, GA. He is survived by his wife, Martha Ann Reaves of Watkinsville, GA; daughters, Cathy (Donny) Warren of Watkinsville, GA and Cindy Reaves Sontag of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Jessica (Codie) Feazel, Joshua (Ashley), Coley and Makayla Warren, Ryan, Blake and Laney Sontag and great grandchildren Zora, Silas and Calla Feazel and niece Brittany McConnell.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 13, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Lord and Stephens, West. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 until 2:30 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to either of the following charities that were close to his heart: Neuro Endocrine Cancer Research at NANETS.net or Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at www.CHOA.org
