David Griggs, a beloved father and devoted husband, passed away on August 19, 2025, in Hull, Georgia. David was born on August 14, 1947, in Cleveland, Alabama.
David, a retired mechanic, spent an impressive 39 years at the same company.
As a proud veteran who served two years and seven months in the Army, David exemplified bravery and duty, values that he carried into all aspects of his life. Outside of his career and military service, David enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was the thrill of hunting or the tranquility of bass fishing.
His family was his greatest treasure. David was a devoted husband to his wife, Sang Sun Griggs for 54 wonderful years, a partnership marked by love and laughter. David was also a wonderful father to his children, Leon and Janie Griggs. He imparted many life lessons, always eager to be their guiding light.
He is survived by his cherished children, Leon and Janie, as well as his brother Charles Griggs and his sister Diane Kinley. Preceding him in death are his beloved wife, Sang Sun; his father, Claude Griggs; his mother Maxie Griggs; and his brothers Ricky Griggs and Dan Fleming.
In this moment of loss, let us remember David not just for his passing but for the remarkable impact he had on his family and community. His warm heart and kind spirit created a lasting legacy that will always be reflected in the lives he touched.
