James G. Reddington, 68, of Olyphant, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, after an illness. He is survived by the love of his life, Pamela Dunning, with whom he shared more than 22 wonderful years.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Marcinek) Reddington, he was a devoted member of St. Carlo Acutis Parish, St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant. James was an avid Raiders fan who also enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, attending blues festivals, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by Pamela, Olyphant; her two children, Michelle and husband, Andrew Eaton, Reading; and Adam Dunning and his wife, Karlie, Forest City; three nieces, Mary Judith Zumbo, Newark, DE; Jeanne Agostinelli, Middletown, PA; and Melissa Dominick, Poughkeepsie, NY; five grandchildren, Jaela, Andrew, Liam, Greyson, and Enzo; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Reddington; and one sister, Barbara Zumbo.
The funeral will be Friday, December 12, 2025, from Hudak-O’Shea & Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant, with a Catholic Blessing Service at 10:00 a.m. by Reverend Scott Sterowski, Pastor of St. Carlo Acutis Parish. Interment will follow in Dunmore Cemetery, 400 Church Street, Dunmore.
Family and friends are invited to attend James’s viewing on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
