It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Mr. James Edward Reynolds. He was a loving husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a great-great grandfather. He left this world peacefully in his home on the morning of October 7, 2024, in Fruitland, Tennessee, at the age of 78. He was born on August 6, 1946, in Bradford, Tennessee and remained close to home his entire life loving the outdoors and everything they offered, cherishing his family and spending time with his beloved grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. James Edward Reynolds will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 12 p.m. in the Hunt Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Locust Grove Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time. His celebration of life will be officiated by Bro. Ronnie Coleman.
James worked for the City of Milan performing many tasks for over 30 years until he retired in 2012. Since then, he has stayed busy working in the yard, hunting, and fishing, and helping out in the race shop as long as his health allowed, spending time with family having a good meal, and he absolutely loved sitting outside on the porch in his rocking chair.
He was always willing to help in any way possible. Even when helping with a project he would make it his top priority to make sure it was done quickly and correctly. The word “quit” was not in this man’s vocabulary. His drive and determination set the bar high for anyone who worked beside him or came behind him.
Above all, Mr. James loved his family and God unconditionally. He was married to his wife, Rachel Ann Reynolds, for 60 years. Their love for one another was displayed greatly over the years as they held true to their vows through sickness and in health. They were not just husband and wife; they were also best friends who went everywhere together. It was with great joy they found their new church home in August 2018 at SoulQuest Church, where they attended faithfully until the last few months when Mr. James’s health did not allow him to go. Oh, the smile he must have on his face right now and the conversations he is having with Jesus.
He is preceded in death by his father Wesley Reynolds and his mother Bertha Reynolds-Priest, stepfather Paul Priest, and his sister Mildred Parrott.
Mr. Reynolds leaves behind his wife, Rachel Ann Reynolds; daughter Melissa Garmany (Wayne); Granddaughter, Misty Garmany; Grandson, Brad Garmany (Sabrina); Great-grandchildren, Garrett (Madison), Gavin, Nathan, Kyle, and Keira Wallace; and Great-Great-grandson, Steven Patrick Wallace II.
Hunt Funeral Home is proud to serve the family of Mr. James Edward Reynolds.
