James Cleon Rice, 76, passed away peacefully at McCall Hospice House on September 3, 2025 after years of declining health. He was predeceased by his parents C.P. and Sadie W. Rice.
He is survived by his wife Carol H. Rice and two sons, James S. Rice and wife Tiffany, grandchildren London and Grayson Rice; and Brian D. Rice. Also survived by brother Rick and sister in law Diane; sister Linda Gault and brother in law Greg Gault. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews
Jim retired from Shriners Hospital. He was an avid Clemson fan and enjoyed coaching his sons in baseball.
The family would like to thank the staff of Heartland Hospice.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorials in Jim's memory may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, S.C. 29605.
