Obituary For James Rigano

James Rigano, 96, of Staten Island, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a life rich in family, service, and human connection.

James was born on March 6, 1929, in Coney Island, Brooklyn, to the late Frank and Anna Rigano. A proud patriot, he served in the United States Army during World War II and was stationed in Japan. In recognition of his honorable service, he was awarded the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal.

James was the beloved husband of Carole Rigano and a devoted father to Caryann Rigano (Thomas Concilio), Amy Rigano (Chris Miceli), and Chris Rigano (Kristine). He was a proud grandfather to Alexandra and Amanda, and a cherished great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy.

Known for his love of dancing and his natural ability to work with his hands, James had a lifelong curiosity about the world and the people in it. He never met a stranger-always eager to strike up a conversation, learn someone's story, or share a laugh. His warmth, craftsmanship, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

James will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
