James A. Riley, age 78, of Versailles, passed away Friday, December 17, 2021, at his home. He was born May 11, 1943, in Omaha, Nebraska, a son of the late K.W. and Jennie (Wheatcraft) Riley.
Jim was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
On September 28, 2002, in Las Vegas, Nevada, he was united in marriage to Flossie M. (Wilson) Lutjen who preceded him in death on November 25, 2020.
Jim owned and operated Riley's Lock and Shoe Repair for many years.
He was a member of the Trinity Southern Baptist Church in Versailles.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Carol Bailey and husband Randy of Independence, Missouri and Sherry Williams and husband Scott of Weatherford, Texas; step-children, Kenneth Lutjen of Versailles, Missouri and Jackie Young and husband Steve of Belton, Missouri; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, John Riley and wife Nancy of Independence, Missouri; sister, Nina Herrington of Sedalia, Missouri and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ron Riley and wife Muriel, sister, Trudy Anderson and husband Andy and a brother-in-law, Don Herrington.
There are no services planned at this time.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
