James A. Rogers, age 78, of Sweetwater, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026. He retired from Vestal Manufacturing after 45 years. He was of the Baptist faith. A life long member of the Monroe County Rescue Squad. Preceded in death by his wife of 56 years: Brenda Rogers, parents: John and Nellie Rogers, son-in-law: David Nelson.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law: Debbie and Tim Crawford, son and daughter-in-law: Dewayne and Sherry Rogers, all of Sweetwater. He has four grandchildren: Tiffany Nelson, Samantha and Doug Patterson, Davey and Wendi Nelson, Heather and Scott Craig, all of Sweetwater. He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren: Kalee, Lila, and Joey, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Sweetwater Memory Chapel from 5:00P.M. until 7:00P.M. with the funeral service to follow at 7:00P.M. in the chapel with Rev. Chad Hester, and Rev. Ronnie Cook officiating. Interment 11:00A.M. Wednesday in the Sweetwater Memorial Park. www.kykerfuneralhomes.com
