Virginia Beach-James W. Roland, 73 of 3248 Baum Road died Friday in the hospital. He was a retired Vet and served 21 years in the U.S. Navy. He retired as a Chief, rank was E7 in 1991. He was a native of Baltimore, Maryland and the husband of Nancy L. Roland for over 45 years. Survivors are his brother-in-law James M. Alexander of Chesapeake, VA. He was predeceased by his two sons Brandon Lee Roland and Daniel (Danny) William Roland. James requested not to have a funeral.
