JAMES ROBERT ROSENBURGH (Jim or Rosey), 76, of Elyria, Ohio passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024. Jim was born on June 15, 1947 in
Rome, NY to Helen and Robert Rosenburgh. He was the salt of the earth and devoted his life to his family and many friends. Jim is survived by his beloved of 33 years, Mary Cameron of
Elyria, OH, his sister Julie R. Janisko (Jerome) of Berryville, VA, his son Brian Rosenburgh of Ellettsville, IN, and stepchildren Mary Bartolotta, Ann Cameron, John Cameron, William Cameron and Katherine Cameron. He is survived by 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, many nieces, nephews, cousins, a giant network of people who loved him and many four-legged furry friends.
Jim was a veteran, a gifted athlete, a teacher and a tennis coach to many throughout his life. As a coach, he taught his students sportsmanship was not just about winning, but about respecting the game and the opponent, and learning the value of competitive sport. He enjoyed time on the golf course, swinging them hard, putting them straight and celebrating on the 19th hole. Jim's greatest professional accomplishment was the business he and Mary built in Zionsville, IN, The Friendly Tavern. The establishment's motto was "You are a stranger here but once,"and if Jim was working the door, you were always greeted with his huge smile and possibly a giant bear hug. Most recently, upon moving into their new neighborhood, Jim co-sponsored the newly incorporated Bean-Bag Baseball League where he served as "The Commish" and loved every moment of it. This year just won't be the same without him. Jim will be sorely missed.
Family and friends will gather for Visitation on Saturday, April 13 at The McGorray-Hanna Funeral Home of Westlake, 25620 Center Ridge Rd., from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, with a Service immediately following at 2:00pm.
