James Earl Rosser was born on January 24, 1956, to Issac "Buck" Rosser and Reba (Friday) Rosser. He passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025, at the age of sixty-nine years.
James was a diligent worker from his youth through adulthood, always known for his dedication and determination. He loved the outdoors and found joy in hunting, fishing, gardening, and riding dirt roads. He also enjoyed keeping up with current events by watching the news. More than anything, James treasured time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life. He was also a long-time, active member of the Sheriff's Posse Committee during its early years and was proud to serve his community through this involvement.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Buck and Reba Rosser; his first wife, Glenda Rosser; and his brother, Waymon Dudley Rosser.
James is survived by his loving wife, Linda Rosser; his daughters, Denice Wars and husband Rickey, Rebecca Sciullo and husband Toby, and Amanda Sharp and husband Todd; his stepchildren, Jarrod Meshell and wife Kim, Scotty Meshell and wife Jacky, and Melinda Voelker and husband Richard; grandchildren, Dillon Hance and wife Tara, Mikala Peters, Brooke Lilley and husband Wes, Kyle Wars, Elizabeth Goins and husband Andrew, Cooper Sciullo, Kaylin Magee, and James Kade Rosser; step-grandchildren, Alexa Meshell, Allie Andrews and husband Cody, Alana Meshell, Thomas Meshell and wife Lexi, Emma Meshell, Hunter Meshell, Kylie Voelker, and Paislie Voelker; great-grandchildren, Cody, Jase, Bailey, Esther, Emi, Avery, Rylee, Braxley, Eli, Eden, and Rosie; and step great-grandchildren, Atticus and Clayton. He is also survived by his sister, Carol Saunders; brothers, Morris Rosser and wife Dorothy, and David Rosser and wife Karen; sister-in-law, Fairlene Collins; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, September 8, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM at Groveton Funeral Home until the funeral service time at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Ellis Prairie Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request that donations be made to Ellis Prairie Cemetery Association.
Pallbearers: Dillon Hance, Kevin Holmes, Mitch Friday, Jarrod Meshell, Richard Voelker, Johnny Fussell.
Honorary Pallbearers: Matt Hance, Calvin Holmes, and Scotty Meshell.
James will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose love and devotion to his family will continue to live on in their hearts.
