James C. Roution, age 83, of Springfield, KY passed away at 12:33 p.m., Sunday, July 20, 2025 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Select Specialty Hospital in Danville.

He was born in Taylor County, on July 31, 1941 to the late Clea and Katherine Robertson Roution.

He was a member of the Temple Baptist Church, a retired employee of General Electric Company of Louisville and a United States Army Veteran.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Mary Carolyn Vize Roution on January 5, 2006 and a sister, Alice Ann Young on April 11, 2025.

Survivors include his daughter, Tammy (Joe Pat) Cecil; two granddaughters, Danielle Cecil and Jenna Cecil all of Lebanon; a sister, Barbara Yates of Springfield and two brothers, Charles Roution of Louisville and Donnie (Shirley) Roution of Springfield.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 25th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. John McDaniel, officiating.

Burial will be in the St. Rose Cemetery.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Darnell Young, Randall Thomas, Terry Hill, Mike Vize, Chip Vize, Frank Vize and J.C. Johnson.

Serving as casket bearers will be Todd Young, Mike Biven, Joey Roution, Joe Johnson, Gary Johnson and John Vize.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Thursday and after 8:00 Friday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
