James J. "Salty Dog" Saltzman Jr., age 62, of Orrville, passed away Friday, December 19, 2025, at his residence.
Jimmy was born April 7, 1963, in Orrville, to James and Nina (Maxwell) Saltzman, Sr. He was a 1981 graduate of Orrville High School and worked for 38 years as a specialty steel wire operator at Bekaert Corporation in Orrville.
Jimmy enjoyed classic rock music - especially The Doors - reading, politics, and faithfully cheering on the Cleveland Browns. Known for his strong work ethic, he rarely missed a day of work and took great pride in providing for his family. He will be remembered as a devoted father, a special brother, and a loyal friend.
Surviving are his parents, Jim and Nina Saltzman of Orrville, two sons, James "Jay" (Bethany) Saltzman III of Orrville and Chris (Katelin Neff) Saltzman of Wooster; three grandchildren, Gauge Daniel Saltzman, Preston James Saltzman, and Michael Alexander Saltzman; his sister, Cara (Jim) Huntsberger of Orrville; two brothers, Sam (Sarah) Saltzman of Marshallville and Charlie (Sandy Pina) Saltzman of Orrville; numerous nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Donna (Bobby) Slone of Orrville.
Private graveside committal of cremated remains held at Crown Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

The Saltzman family lived down the street from me, and I babysat for the four children. I am very sorry to hear this as I have fond memories of that time. Prayers to this sweet family.
