Sandonato, James L. of Weymouth, died October 13, 2023, at South Shore Hospital. He was 85.
Born in Quincy in 1937, he was the son of the late James and Lillian Sandonato. He worked for 30 years as a Mechanical Engineer for Gillette, where he made many close friends over the years. James enjoyed traveling with his wife, golfing, spending time with family and was an excellent dancer. He was a wonderful husband, brother, father, papa and best friend. His Cape house created many cherished memories filled with love and happy times with family and friends.
Cherished husband of the late Barbara Sandonato. Loving father to Paula Farrell and her husband Michael of S. Weymouth, Joanne Whalen of S. Weymouth, Lynne Rumble and her husband Steve of S. Weymouth, and Sharon Sandonato of Abington. Best papa ever to Taylor and her husband Eric of Quincy, Sean and his wife Christine of New Jersey, Corey and her husband Ben of Easton, Eric of S. Weymouth, Troy of S. Weymouth, Hannah of Quincy, and Paige of Chicago. Great papa to Tatum and Ella. Beloved brother of Maryann McMahon of Quincy and brother-in-law of Maureen Rowell and her husband Don of Middleboro. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family on Friday, October 27, 2023, during visiting hours of 10:00 AM -12:00 PM, with a 12:00 PM funeral service at McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, 809 Main St., South Weymouth (Rt. 18 opp. South Shore Hospital). Burial at Village Cemetery, Weymouth to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in James' name may be made to The Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave. Floor 17 Chicago, IL 60601.
