James Andrew Saunders Jr., 65, of Derry, New Hampshire, passed away on January 31, 2026, at UMass Memorial Hospital in Leominster, Massachusetts. He was born on February 21, 1960, in Manchester, NH, the son of James and Judith Saunders.
An avid chess and card player, James loved games of all kinds and especially enjoyed playing video games and drinking coffee. Above all else, he adored spending time with his family and treasured every moment with them, particularly with his grandson, James, who held a very special place in his heart.
James was a devoted father, grandfather, and family man. He is survived by his children Jamie Saunders and his wife Amanda, Jacob Saunders, Jean Marie Saunders, and Paula S.; and his cherished grandchildren, James P. and Vivian, who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his brother Kevin and his sister Mickey. He was predeceased by his sister, Robin Saunders.
Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH. Family and friends are invited to attend and remember James for his warmth, his quiet joys, and the deep love he had for those closest to him.
