James A Schmidt, age 81, was born into Eternal Life on July 30,2023. James was born on January 12, 1942 in Chicago to Anton and Agnes Schmidt. Former resident of Lisle and Naperville. Loving father to Laura Piccatto (Michael), James Schmidt, Jr. (Gina), and Beverly Schmidt. Proud grandpa to Michael (fiancé Katie), Katy Piccatto and Anthony Schmidt. Former husband of Carol F. Wills. Dear brother to Richard (Gloria) and Marie Vernon (late Donald). Fond Uncle to many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Monday, August 14, 2023 from 9:00am until time of Mass at 10am at St. Isaac Jogues Roman Catholic Church, 306 West Fourth Street, Hinsdale, Illinois, 60521.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Isaac Jogues Roman Catholic Church in James' name. To request that a name be celebrated in his name, please call the parish office at: 630-323-1248.

Although I was unable to attend Jim´s funeral service, I hold some loving memories of him through the years. How he lovingly referred to his kids as "the three little pies"-
he always needed his extra gravy, or sauce, always appreciated a good meal. He was a loving, hardworking and devoted father.
He will be missed.

Our prayers and thoughts are with the family during this time of sorrow. We were fortunate to have known Jim for many years and have scores of great memories. Throughout his health challenges the last few years he was always cordial, appreciative and polite. In 2009, Jim accompanied our group on a Canadian fishing trip. As always he was the life of the party and always a gentleman. We'll miss you Bemo!
