Jim Schwietz, age 61, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
Cherished fiancé, and companion of over 25 years of Colleen Kulesza; beloved brother of Jack (Laurel), Jeanne Hennemann, Jeff (Michele), Jennifer Flauto (Jerry); uncle of Lindsay (Laird), April (Jesse), Matt (Dana), Nichole (Will), Josie and great-uncle to Ilsa and Duncan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Carol (nee Nelson) Schwietz; and nephew, Joel Schwietz.
Jim started his own business, JAS Industries, which he'd owned and operated for nearly 40 years.
He loved hockey, both as a spectator and a player. He also enjoyed golfing, skiing, boating in the Florida Keys and Bahamas as well as the annual fishing trips to Canada he made with his brothers.
While Jim was devoted to his family and friends his four-legged companions, Lily and Magellen also held a special place in his heart!
Jim was known for his quick wit and willingness to share his opinion often delivered with one of his infamous jokes. He had a caring nature and generosity. He touched more lives than any one of us is aware of in both great and small ways, be it as a friend, mentor, or someone to lean on in tough times. He made a difference with his kindness and will be deeply missed by all who knew him!
A celebration of life to honor Jim is tentatively set for mid-February. Further details will be shared when finalized.
