James Franklin Secrease, 62, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. He was born on January 29, 1963, in Harrisburg, Arkansas, to Jerry and Cecil Ann Secrease.
James was a man of deep faith, grounded in Pentecostal and Assembly of God beliefs. He graduated from seminary in Mississippi and carried his faith with him throughout his life. A hardworking man, James spent his career as a truck driver, a job that took him many miles but always brought him home to the ones he loved.
James had a passion for music and was rarely seen without his guitar in hand. He loved line dancing, fishing, and camping-anything that brought joy, nature, and fellowship together. He found happiness in the simple pleasures and shared that joy generously with those around him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Secrease; his son, Jeremy Logan Secrease; and his stepfather, George Baxley.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 16 years, Lisa Secrease of Jonesboro; his son, Joseph Secrease (Mary); his mother, Cecil Ann Baxley; his brothers, Vance Secrease (Kelly) and Clark Secrease (Pam); and his grandchildren, Eli Secrease and Scarlet Secrease. James is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends who will remember his warmth, humor, and steady presence.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Emerson Funeral Home. A celebration of James's life will follow at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Nate Morse officiating. He will be laid to rest at Bolivar Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Jeff Anglin, Matt Secrease, Dylan Secrease, Jarret Secrease, Timmy Clark, and Tim Haynes.
James will be remembered for his faith, his love of music and the outdoors, and the unwavering devotion he had for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will continue in the lives of all who knew him.
