Jim Sells, 73, passed away on September 18, 2025 at his home in Graford, Texas surrounded by his wife, Cindy and his children.
Jim was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather.
Jim Sells was born in Fort Worth, Texas to Bobby Ashley and James Weldon Sells. Jim and Cindy moved to Possum Kingdom in 1987 and loved living there with their 3 children, Jim, Jennifer, and Stacy. He worked at Villa Marine for over 21 years. He loved fishing and enjoyed participating in the Possum Kingdom Chili Cookoff.
Jim and Cindy suffered the tragic loss, one year ago in September, of their daughter Stacy. Jim called her Shorty and was devastated when he heard the news.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Cindy of Graford, son Jim Sells and wife Donna of Possum Kingdom, daughter Jennifer Smith (Lonnie Lovern) of Possum Kingdom. Sister-in-law Doe Smith and husband Jim Smith of Arkansas, Sydney Sells of Arlington, Texas. He is also survived by his wonderful grandchildren Chelsey (Guard Dog), Devin, Heaven, Tyler, Jordon-Devvan-Jersey, Landon, Cheyenne, Harley. Great grandchildren Daxton, Caevvan, Remington, Brexlynn, Heston. Many nieces and nephews and a lot of great friends.
Jim is preceded in death by his mother-Bobby Ashley, father-James Weldon Sells, brothers-Robert Sells, Joey Jablonka and loving daughter Stacy “Shorty” Sells, and sister-in-law Rosanna Page.
Funeral services will be at First Baptist Church of Possum Kingdom at 10:00 am on Monday, September 22, 2025. There will be a viewing and visitation at the Baum Carlock Bumgardner Funeral Home from 5-7pm on Sunday, September 21, 2025. Jim will be laid to rest at McAdams Cemetery Possum Kingdom.
Pallbearers are Devin Clark, Landon Stovall, Jacob Parnell, Tommy Baker, Eddie Kara, Kater Anderson, Lonnie Lovern, Devvan Polik, Jim Sells, and Tyler Sells. Honorary Pallbearers are Jersey Lovern, Cheyenne Lovern, Harley Sells, Chelsey Thomas, Crystal Sells, Jordan Stovall.
