James Walter Shaw was born and raised in Weimar, Tx on May 3, 1944 to William and Lillie Shaw, he was the second of five brothers. His family instilled in him a work ethic and a christian catholic foundation that stuck with him his entire life, even though he went to the methodist church for the past 60 plus years. He left this world on July 21,2025.
I know you can't pack stuff for heaven, but if you could, I imagine this is how James's trip to Heaven went: he packed brown paper bag or a soft sided cooler with an "oxygen checker", some holy white t-shirts (get it - HOLY) and some short pants, but now he doesn't have to carry oxygen bottles anymore. As soon as he got to Heaven, he was greeted at the pearly gates by his parents William and Lillie, and his mother and father in law, Myrtle and Nolan Welch and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. And he ran, ok… James never ran, he walked, swinging his arms… to meet his wife, Loretta, who's been waiting on him for 13 years. She had the biggest, prettiest smile and was probably laughing ,with the happiest most contagious laugh, about how long it took him to get there. After they visited for a while, he went way back, past the last set of pearly gates, off the streets of gold, behind the mansions of glory, he fed cows at the farm in Heaven with his brothers, Billy and Bobby who have also been waiting on him for several years. But this time he didn't fuss at Bobby and Billy didn't have to tell him to calm down..
He left behind a remarkable legacy here on Earth, that includes his three sons and their wives- Stephen and Angie Shaw of Uvalde,Tx, Kevin and Angie Shaw of Reklaw,Tx, and Nathan and Sally Shaw of Flagstaff, Az; his 8 grandchildren EmmaLee Moore and her husband, Cody, Caleb Shaw, Anika Shaw, Lila Jean Shaw, Caden Shaw, Jake Shaw, Luke Shaw and Sam Shaw; and one precious great grandson, Rhett Nolan Moore. And his memory will also be cherished by his brothers, sister in laws, and brother in laws- Kenneth and Sue Shaw, Tommy and Betty Shaw, Mary Shaw; Debbie Sue and Al Busch, Jimmy and Debbie 'McGinty' Welch and Danny and Jamie Welch and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family. Pallbearers: Willie Shaw, Mike Shaw, Caleb Shaw, Caden Shaw, Cody Moore, Patrick Jazowick. honorary pallbearers : Jake Shaw, Luke Shaw, Sam Shaw and Rhett Moore.
