HALFMOON James W. Shear, 59, of Princeton Ave. passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday December 7, 2024. Death was attributed to natural causes. Born in Troy he was the son of the late Frederick Shear III and Rosemary Warnock Shear. He was a 1983 graduate of Waterford-Halfmoon High School.
Jim has owned and operated a cleaning service for the past 28 years. He was a staunch supporter of the military and coordinated the sending of care packages to our servicemen stationed overseas. He was an accomplished guitarist and enjoyed abstract painting and working on his lawn in his spare time, but especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his wife and best friend Victoria DeCoteau Shear, his daughter Madeline Zehshear of Royersford, PA, and his step children Krystine Mancucci of Niskayuna and Chelsea Mancucci of Halfmoon. He is the brother of Frederick Shear IV (Christina) of Saratoga Springs, Marianne Caruso (Dan) of Clifton Park and Marlene Drobnicki (Matthew) of Waterford. He is the proud grandfather of Avery and Lily Molnar who referred to him as "Jimmers" and uncle of Jill Caruso Kirkhart (Sean), Beth Caruso Stengrevics (Nate), Stephen Caruso (Kelle) and Frederick Shear V (Veronica). Several grand nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
