Michael D. Breen

CLIFTON PARK Michael D. Breen, 71, of Tallow Wood Drive passed away Sunday May 11, 2025 at his home after a brief illness. Born in Troy he was the son of the late J. Richard and Marion Fernet Breen. He was a 1971 graduate of Waterford Halfmoon High School.
Mike had worked in construction for his entire life and was employed at MSI in Schenectady for the past 3 years. Prior to that he was employed by A&L specialties in Waterford for 29 years. He was a 52-year member of the Knickerbocker Fire Department in Waterford.
Mike had taught church school at St. Mary of the Assumption in Waterford and had been a member of the choir at St. Mary's Church in Crescent. He enjoyed woodworking, drones, photography and riding his Harley. He also was fond of back yard bonfires and shooting off his cannon at family parties.
Survivors include his daughters, of whom he loved and was so very proud, Denise Breen (Van) of Troy and Casey Breen (Sanford) of Queensbury. He is the beloved brother of Katherine Smith (William), his twin brother Patrick Breen (Catherine) of Waterford, Richard Breen, Timothy Breen (Joanne) of Waterford, Mary Ellen Grace (Richard) of East Greenbush and the late Margaret Breen. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Friday May 16, 2025 at noon at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterford.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 10 am – noon prior to the funeral service.
