Samantha A. Castracani

WATERFORD Samantha A. Castracani, 25, passed away Thursday April 3, 2025. Born in Troy she is the daughter of George J. Castracani of Waterford and June Hoover of Latham. She was a 2017 graduate of Waterford Halfmoon High School and was a member of the girls' softball team there. She was a member of the National Honor Society and had received the President's Award for Achievement and was part of the Odyssey of the Mind program. While a student in Lansingburgh schools she was a member of the basketball and softball teams.
Samantha was employed as a bar tender at Delmonico's Restaurant in Clifton Park. Prior to that she was employed at Grecian Gardens. As a young entrepreneur she had recently started her own business known as Sami's Sips N Spirits. She had a unique sense of humor and with her witticisms and sarcasm she could bring a smile to the faces of all those around her.
As an organ donor Samantha has saved the lives of 5 recipients with the gift of 7 of her organs.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister and best friend Brianna Agresta (Kyle) of Georgia and her brothers, Michael Castracani (Alyssa) and Nicholas Castracani of Waterford. She is the granddaughter of Kathleen and Dr. John Len of Cohoes, the late Jack Castracani (Barbara) and Connie Sue Wilson. Also surviving is her goddaughter, Emelia Jade as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family at the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford on Sunday April 13, 2025 from 3-7 pm.
Funeral services will be private.
