James Sievers Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Chapel Hill Mortuary & Memorial Gardens - Cedar Hill on Apr. 1, 2023.
James Ray (aka Jimbo from his aunt Glo) Sievers, of Affton, Missouri.
Born: 11/03/1959. Entered into Rest: 03/20.2023.
Dear son of the late Elmer Ray Sievers Jr. & Vivian Jane Sievers (Brouk).
Dear brother of Larry A. Sievers and wife Shirley Stipich-Sievers and late bro Thomas Lee Sievers
He graduated elementary school at Our Lady Queen of Peace, a Northwest H.S. graduate class of 1977, and a graduate of Associate Program in Diesel Mechanics, University of Tennessee, class of 1979.
Jim was never married. Jim had many friends and made new ones where ever he went. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
After his formal educations he started working on over-the-road tractor trailers at TLC in Fenton. After a while he started driving tractor trailers over the road to see what it was like as a driver and their problems. From there he started Sievers Transportation with an over the road Peterbilt truck, then a trailer, then another truck. Then another trailer until he had three of each. At some point he sold everything and went back to TLC as a driver and also to Dino's Trucking as a driver. At some point he moved to Colorado to drive ready mix trucks and do more snow skiing, motorcycle riding and bicycle riding. Then he moved further north to North Dakota to drive more ready-mix truck. He then moved back to St. Louis, Missouri to be closer to our dad, Ray for dads last eight years and moved in with his brother.
In April, 2021 three (3) days before dad died Jim had a major stroke which he survives but it took major tolls on his body and mind. He continued to live in bro Tom's house. He fought to keep his driver's license. He got out some but not a lot.
From the time Jim was five he had a motorcycle and would ride it around mom and dad's yard and the neighbors Orville McBroom's family big two acre vacant lot. He won several local motorcycle races taking after his motorcycle mentor Dave Mungenast Family. He also learned to water ski at a young age by another mentor Bill Lammert of House Springs who taught him to barefoot water ski in the George Winter Park in Fenton then on to Lake of the Ozarks. Then around thirty or so took vacations to take up snow skiing doing the double black diamond trails, and yes more motorcycle riding. he loved doing and watching all kinds of sports. did I mention ping pong who he learned from his father Ray who also was quite a player. He also loved fast cars especially his high school sleeper Chevrolet Nova that was all souped up.
A graveside memorial farewell will be held in Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, Church Road, House Springs, Missouri on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.

I knew Jim growing up and he was in my grade school classes at OLQP. Reading his obituary brought back some memories, like water skiing. I went down to Lake of the Ozarks with he and his family and trying to water skiing down there which was quite a challenge. I also played just a little bit of guitar with him and his house when he lived on Highway 30 as a child. I also played soccer with him in grade school. I am very sorry to hear of his passing
