James Francis "Jim" Silva

James Francis Silva, 71, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, in Antioch, California. Born on November 12, 1953, in Oakland, California, Jim lived a life marked by quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering devotion to his family and community.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Teresa Silva; his son, Timothy Silva; daughter-in-law, Courtney Silva; and his cherished grandsons, Cohen and Carter Silva. He was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Wallace, and his son, Jeffrey Silva.

Jim was a man of deep conviction and quiet generosity. A devout Catholic, he dedicated much of his time to serving the church and supporting fellow parishioners. His faith was not only a personal compass but also a source of strength and comfort to those around him.

He had a lifelong passion for the outdoors and found joy in the simple beauty of nature. An avid birdwatcher and outdoorsman, Jim spent countless hours exploring trails, observing wildlife, and capturing the world through his camera lens. His love for photography allowed him to preserve fleeting moments with care and artistry, often sharing his work with friends and family.

A loyal sports fan, Jim especially loved cheering on the Los Angeles Dodgers. Whether watching games at home or discussing stats with his son, his enthusiasm for baseball was infectious and enduring.

Those who knew Jim remember him as a funny, intelligent, and kind man. Though not always the most outspoken in a crowd, he was quick with wit or a thoughtful comment that left a lasting impression. His warmth and wisdom enriched the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.

Jim's memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all who were touched by his presence. May his legacy of faith, humor, and quiet strength continue to inspire those who knew and loved him. A Funeral Service will be held on October 30, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 02:00 PM at Queen of All Saints Church 2390 Grant Street. There will be a rosary before the service starts with a reception to follow.
