James E. "Jim" Smith, 90, of Honey Grove, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 28, 2025, at Geisinger–Lewistown Hospital. Born on August 19, 1934, in Progress, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Ernest and Mildred (Zimmerman) Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Evelyn A. (Hornberger) Smith; sisters, Doris Robinson and Marilyn Smith; and his brother, Bob Smith. Jim is survived by his son, David Smith and wife Karen, of Upper Marlboro, MD; his daughter, Cheryl Smith and wife Lisa O'Brien, of Honey Grove; and by his cherished grandchildren, Joshua Smith and wife Vanessa, and Joel Smith and wife Shannon. He also leaves behind his adored great-grandchildren, Solomon, Isaac, and Jonah. A man of faith, Jim was a longtime member of The Matamoras United Methodist Church in Port Royal. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force Reserves. He retired from Consolidated Freightways. He was Known for his quick wit and warm sense of humor, he will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. In keeping with his wishes, services will be private.
