James E. Snell, 94, of Luzerne, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
James was born in Kingston, on June 17th, 1931, son of the late George and Pauline Donley Snell.
Jim was a graduate of Luzerne High School Class of 1948. After graduation, James joined the US Army and proudly served our nation during the Korean Conflict.
Upon returning state side, James began his career with Bendix Corporation as a machinist working on numerous projects for our nations various space programs until his retirement in 1993.
Jim always enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He especially looked forward to celebrating special occasions and holidays. He was also a proud member of the American Legion Post 644.
James is preceded in death by his wife Patricia O'Boyle Snell of Kingston, his son James Snell Jr of Florida and his daughter Rosemary West of Dingmans Ferry.
James is survived by his stepson David P Snell of White Haven Pa, daughter in law Karen Snell Wood and her husband Gary Wood of Mt Top, stepdaughter Deborah Snell Laub and her husband Mark Laub of Northampton, grandson Bradley Snell and his wife Jacquelyn Snell of Summerville SC, his granddaughter Brittany Snell Moser and her husband George Moser of Dallas in addition to 5 beautiful and cherished great grand children.
Family services will be held from 10 to 11 AM on Tuesday, October 7th, at Hugh B. Hughes & Son, Inc. Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home directly following calling hours at 11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to American Legion Post 644 in Swoyersville.
