James Patrick Solie, affectionately known as Jim or JP, passed away on August 31, 2024, at the age of 63 in Hudson, Wisconsin. Jim lived a life marked by a profound love for his family.
Jim was born on June 18, 1961, in Plum City, Wisconsin to John and Linda (Oberding) Solie. He grew up in Durand, Wisconsin and graduated from Durand High School. He graduated with a BS in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science from University of Wisconsin, Stout. He was employed at the State of Minnesota with the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension as a Systems Architect.
In his spare time, Jim had many hobbies that he was passionate about, such as hunting, fishing, grilling/smoking, and video gaming. He loved to share his passions with friends and family.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Heather, and their sons, Jacob and Erik. Jim is also survived by his brothers, Michael (Linda) Solie and Karl (Sandra) Solie, and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Linda Solie.
Jim was very active in the Blue Hope Nation, a private group run by the Colorectal Cancer Alliance. As well as Man Up to Cancer, a leading support community for men impacted by cancer in North America. Memorials are preferred to either group at colorectalcancer.org or at manuptocancer.org.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 1:00 pm at O'Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, Wisconsin. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Wednesday. Jim's life and legacy will be remembered fondly by all who knew him, as a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. His warmth and generosity will be missed dearly.
