James Sozzi Obituary
James (Jim) Sozzi, of Pittsford, passed away May 16, 2025 at age 71 after a brief battle with cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Lisa (nee Leonard), sister Denise Hall, brother-in-law Alan (Julia) Leonard, Joel (Lori) Leonard and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by parents Rose and Gene Sozzi.
Jim was a local tax and small business accountant for over 40 years. He was known for his soft-spoken, caring personality and loved teaching taxation and small business to the next generation of entrepreneurs. Many of his clients were more like family.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service on May 24 at 11am at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services INC, 3325 Winton Road South, followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. For those unable to attend the memorial service (CLICK HERE) to view the livestream.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Advent House Hospice or any pancreatic cancer research foundation.

Lisa, I'm so very sorry. Jim was a very thoughtful, kind and loving man, who I adored . I'm sorry I couldn't be there with you this morning. I did watch the the service online. It was so moving and genuine. Jim had a lot of people who loved him dearly. Your heart wrenching speech had me in tears. I know how much you two loved and respected each other. When I think of him, I always smile. He was like a brother to me when we were kids. I didn't have any brothers. He taught me how to throw and bat a ball. He taught me various other sports. He was so gentle and always made me feel safe. The way you loved Jimmy was so sweet. Love surrounded you both. I hope your memories and adventures will stay strong with you. I wish you the very best Lisa. You are a beautiful person and you gave Jimmy a wonderful life.

I'm lucky to have had 67 years of friendship, ... a lifetime of memories. In the time I spent with Jim, I believe there were three things that really defined his life: dedication and loyalty to family, friends & clients, his incredible work ethic, which started with his first paper route in the 60's and carried through his entire working life, and I always appreciated his unique sense of humor which gave me much joy over the years. I asked Jim to meet me at the Gates of Heaven, and I know he will.
