William E. Muar "Bill" passed away February 3, 2026. Bill was predeceased by his father, Harry Muar, mother Alberta (Ritz) Muar and brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Diane (McNeil) Muar. He is survived by nieces and nephews – Donna (Muar) and Miles Rugg, James and Wendy Muar, Suzanne (Muar) Ferris and Brian Muar as well as several great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, cousins, and many lifelong friends.

Bill graduated from Aquinas high school where he played football and baseball. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958 after which he attended SUNY Brockport where he received his B.S. in Education. Bill then attended the University of Rochester and received his M.S. in School Administration. He taught elementary grades, was an elementary principal and performed various other responsibilities for the Rochester City School District until his retirement in 1989.

Bill's interests were mostly church related at St. Boniface Parish where he was the President of the Men's Club, involved with the Boy Scouts, Junior Bowling and lead the Senior Group for 25 years. He also taught at the University of Puerto Rico for a year while on a sabbatical from the Rochester City School district. Bill was an avid bridge player, bowler, golfer and Buffalo Bills supporter. He loved animals and had two pet dogs after he retired. At St. Boniface church, he was a eucharistic minister and lector. Bill also loved to travel and visited many places in the US as well as many countries in Europe.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Penfield Place, skilled nursing facility, for the wonderful care they have given Bill his last few years.

A funeral mass will be held for Bill on Monday March 2, 2026, at 10:00 am at St. Boniface Church, 330 Gregory Street, Rochester, NY 14620. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill's name can be made to St. Boniface Church, 330 Gregory Street, Rochester, New York 14620 and Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Road, Fairport, New York 14450.
