James Earl Stanley

Services for James Earl Stanley, 85, of Levelland will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at First United Methodist Church in Levelland with Rev. Ruby Moultrie officiating. Interment will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, July 18, 2022, at Krestridge Funeral Home.
James was born to Earl and Roxie Stanley on April 4, 1937 on a snowy day in Pettit, Texas. He passed from this life on July 13, 2022.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jenell; their parents; siblings, Dave, Wilma, Jack, Dee and Harley; and great-great granddaughter, Theodora.
James was raised on the Pettit farm and was a typical little brother. The little boys lived in a half dugout that led to many adventures. The family moved to Levelland when James was in high school where he met Jenell Craig and decided that she was who he was going to marry. James and Jenell were married on February 18, 1956.
He was a very kind, giving and sweet man. The family thanks everyone for the stories that showed his giving character. He owned and operated Stanley's Superette and Stanley Rentals for over 35 years where he developed a very special extended family.
James is survived by his children, Jo and Lupe Flores of Lubbock and Darla and Larry Burton of Levelland; grand and great grandchildren, Carrie Cearley and husband Kyle Anderson and children, Abigal, Amelia, William and Winston of Lubbock, Lupe III "Trey" and Lynsey, Thomas James and Patrick of Wolfforth, Marisa of Nashville, Shanna Perez of Levelland, Ashlyn Bridges of Lubbock, Kyla Bridges, Eva and Kash of Levelland and Donya and E.J. Montez of Lubbock; brother, J.R. and Betty Stanley; and sister-in-law, Frances Stanley.
The family would like to thank Ventura Place, Hospice of UMC and Comfort Keepers for their loving care.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in James' memory to the Love and Lunches Ministry sponsored by the First United Church of Levelland.
