With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of James Roy Steagall. Anyone who knew James knew that he was a gentle giant, with a love for his children, grandchildren, fishing and building hot-rods.
A genuine self-made man, when James wasn't working on building cars, he was either found fishing or spending time with his grandchildren who he adored. When James wasn't working in the body shop, no doubt that you would find him with a rod and reel in hand, fishing was his first love!
James passed away on May 17, 2025, in Texas City, Texas at the young age of 60. He was born on February 21, 1965, in Lovington, New Mexico to his father Jessie James and his mother Alberta Marcile.
He now rejoices in Heaven with his Father, Jessie James, his Mother Alberta Marcile and his younger brother Tony Scott Steagall. We imagine him there, fishing every day and surrounded by love.
He is survived by his children; Son James Roy Steagall II and his wife Christine Steagall, Daughter Jennifer Nichole Clawson and her husband Johnny Clawson III, Daughter Lacey Lynne Casarez and her husband Humberto Casarez. His grandchildren; Jolene Redfische Clawson, Nolan Michael Steagall, Everleigh Rose Casarez, Johnny Loyd Clawson and Juliette Reece Casarez. Anyone who truly knew James knew that his love for his grandchildren was like no other!
A memorial service to honor James will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 11am at San Jacinto Memorial Park and Funeral Home.
The memories of James will live on in the hearts and minds of his loving family, grandchildren and numerous other relatives and lifelong friends.
