Publish in a newspaper

James "Jim" V. Stickovitch, 83, of Masontown, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on June 6, 1942, in Fairchance, Pennsylvania, Jim was the son of the late Joseph W. and Goldie (Boyd) Stickovitch. He was raised in a close-knit family alongside his eight siblings, where he learned early the values of hard work, humility, and faith - lessons that guided him throughout his life.

Jim spent many years as a proud and dedicated coal miner, providing tirelessly for his family with grit and perseverance. His work ethic was unmatched, and even in retirement, he continued to pour that same energy into his passions - whether it was hunting, fishing, or tending to his beloved vegetable garden. He found peace and purpose in the outdoors, and he especially enjoyed sharing those simple joys with family and friends.

On October 26, 1962, Jim married the love of his life, Carol "Rosie" Stickovitch. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and faith. Over their 63 years of marriage, they raised four children and created a home that was the heart of countless family gatherings and memories.

Jim was a devout Christian whose quiet faith guided everything he did. He lived with integrity, kindness, and compassion - never seeking recognition, but always lending a hand when someone needed it.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Harriet Whoolery, Sarah Swaney, and Frances Vojtkofsky; brothers John and Joseph; and his beloved daughter, Kristin Yucha.

Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Carol; his children Jeff (Linda), Jimmy (Sandra), and Kathleen (Mike) Duritsky; his sisters Margaret (Herb) Greif, Myrtle Stajcar, and Judy (Tom) Kittle; grandchildren Alexis, Nicole, Michael (Jenna), Josh, Benjamin, and Jayden; great granddaughter Ryleigh, and his faithful dog, Frosty.

Jim will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his hard-working spirit, and his deep love for his family. His presence, wisdom, and humor will be profoundly missed but forever remembered by all who were blessed to know him.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Andrew D. Ferguson Funeral Home & Crematories, Inc., 80 Morgantown Road, Uniontown, PA, where family and friends will be received on Monday, October 13, from 2–4 PM and 6–8 PM, and on Tuesday, October 14, from 10–11 AM followed by a service celebrating Jim's life at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dale Johnson and Rev. Dale Reddick co-officiating. Interment will follow in Greendale Cemetery.
