Lakeview-James "Jamie" Michael Stockwell, age 49, of Six Lakes passed away at Woodland Hospice House in Mt. Pleasant on Thursday, July 7, 2022, after fighting a long battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). He was born in Alma on November 18, 1972, to Rick and Kathy (Smith) Stockwell, and was raised in Six Lakes. Jamie was employed at Concrete Cutting and Breaking in Grand Rapids before he became ill. He married Julie Force on March 17, 2007, at the Seville Community Church. Jamie enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing. And he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Jamie is survived by his wife, Julie of Six Lakes; 6 children, Kassey (Jeff) Mortensen of Edmore, Kendra Stockwell of Hawaii, Hanna Stockwell of Mt. Pleasant, Jamison Stockwell of Six Lakes, Jaxson Stockwell of Six Lakes, Ashlyn Stockwell of Six Lakes; 4 grandchildren, Eli, Zeeva, Freya, Isaiah; parents, Rick and Kathy Stockwell of Blanchard; grandmother, Edna Smith of Alma; siblings, Scott (Heather) Stockwell of Vestaburg, Rob Stockwell of Edmore, Judy Stockwell of Port Huron, Ginny (Robert) Pollitte of Sheridan, Brad Stockwell; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Marty Stockwell.
A memorial service for Jamie will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 15, 2022, at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview with Pastor Ruth Petersen officiating. The family will greet friends on Thursday, July 14 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral chapel.
