ROCKVILLE – James Christoper Stratis, 35, of Rockville Indiana passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024. James was born August 25, 1988, in LaCrosse, Wisconsin to Charles and Michele Stratis of Rockville. James was a graduate of Batesville High School and immediately enlisted in the U.S. Army serving one tour in Iraq and two tours in Afghanistan then retired. James enjoyed his farm raising beef cows, pigs and alfalfa hay. His passion was spending time with his family.
Survivors include his parents; his wife Lacy Dooley Stratis whom he married December 28, 2020 in Ladoga, Indiana; two sons Charlie and Davy Stratis; father -in-law and mother-in-law David and Kristy Dooley of Rockville, two brothers, Scott (Paige Funch) Stratis of Greenwood, Indiana and Ryan (Brittany) Brooket of Cherry Hill, New Jersey; brother-in-law, Colten Dooley of Rockville; uncle, James Stratis and aunt, Andrea DiMarzio both of Boston; niece Grace Funch and nephews Evan Stratis and Grayson Brooket as well as his best friend Colt Coffey.
Memorial services will be 5:00pm Wednesday July 17, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville with military honors by Parke County veterans following the service. Visitation is from 3-5 on Wednesday. Memorial contributions, should friends so desire, may be made to the Fountain Trust Company c/o Lacy Stratis and the boys, 1250 N Lincoln Road, Rockville, Indiana 47872
