James Maurice Strawn

James "Jim" Maurice Strawn, 89, of Dallas, NC passed away peacefully in his sleep on the night of Sunday, March 10th at his home. He was born in Chesterfield County, SC January 1st 1935. Son of Connie Ray and Mary Era Strawn. "Jim" was married to Peggy Strawn for 68 years. Even at his age he enjoyed doing carpentry work daily, even 7 days a week when he could, with his son Johnny Maurice Strawn up to the day of his passing. He also loved spending time at the beach and a nice warm day on the front porch with his wife.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Connie Ray and Mary Era Strawn, brother Jerry Strawn, sisters Lucille McCorkle and Needy Aldridge, and granddaughters Ashley Spears and Amie Strawn.
He is survived by Geraldean Aldridge (sister), Peggy Strawn (wife), Johnny and "Little Johnny" Strawn (sons), Annette Spears and Judy Moore (daughters), Shane Spears, Heather Medlin, Cody and Jesse Strawn (grandchildren), Hannah Spears (great granddaughter), and also his little four-legged snack buddy, Banjo. Jim will be greatly missed by his loved ones.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday March 14, 2024 in the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Thursday also at the funeral home.
