A funeral service for Barbara Jean (Beard) Strawn, 73, of Cleburne, will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 21, 2026in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home Chapel, located at 512 N. Ridgeway Dr., Cleburne, Texas 76033, with Mr. Travis Jenkins and Mr. Benjamin Hoffman officiating. There will be a time of visitation for family and friends from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of floral tributes for the service.
Barbara Strawn, born on September 2, 1952, in Fort Gordon (Augusta), GA, passed away on January 14, 2026, in Cleburne, Texas. She was a beloved member of her community and a cherished figure within her family.
Barbara was known for her warmth and kindness, embodying a spirit of joy that touched the lives of everyone she met. She had a profound love for cooking, often bringing family and friends together around the dinner table, where her meals became the centerpiece of cherished gatherings. Additionally, she was an avid fan of Dallas Cowboys football, sharing her enthusiasm for the sport with her family and friends. Her laughter and love created an atmosphere of joy that will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Strawn, her parents, William and Norma (Stanfill) Beard, and her brother, William Beard, Jr.
She is survived by her sons, Billy Birdsong and his wife Sue, Bobby Birdsong and his wife Crystal, Christopher Birdsong and his wife Jennifer; her grandchildren: Trinity Head, Gracie Moore, Nash Birdsong, Collin Cole, Caleb Turner, and Mason Birdsong; her sister, Frances Jenkins and her husband Tim, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family extends special thanks to Ridgeview Nursing Home and Rehab and Grand Hospice for the superb love and care they provided during Barbara's time of need. Her legacy of love, laughter, and family will forever stay with those who were blessed to know her.
