James Stroderd Obituary
Mr. Stroderd, 77, of Alexandria, entered eternal rest on Thursday, June 19, 2025, in The Carpenter House, Lafayette, Louisiana.
Henry was the seventh of eleven children. He grew up on a farm, where he learned the value of a strong work ethic. He attended Northeastern Louisiana State University in Monroe, Louisiana, where he studied pharmacy. Henry loved playing golf, working in his shop, and tending to his garden. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Elson Stroderd, Sr. and Mary Ena Caswell Stroderd; his siblings, Joseph Edison Stroderd, John Herman Stroderd, Allen Paul Stroderd, Louis Winston Stroderd, Thomas Stroderd, Debora Louise Stroderd, and Patrick Stroderd; one nephew, Daimon Brent Stroderd; one sister-in-law, Joan Richard Stroderd (Allen), and former wife, Betty Miles Stroderd McGivery.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife, Susan Goodwin Stroderd of Alexandria; one son, Matthew Stroderd (Buffy); two stepsons, Dakota Goodwin (Mindy) and Daniel Goodwin (Callie); two granddaughters, Hahva Stroderd and Evy Stroderd; four stepgrandchildren, Chloe Goodwin, Noah Goodwin, Leo Goodwin, and Nathan Goodwin; his siblings, Mary Ruth Stroderd Pousson (Ronald), Joseph Elson Stroderd, Jr., and Barbara Stroderd Hoffpauir (John); his sisters-in-law, Mildred Hebert Stroderd, Beverly Seilhan Stroderd, and Deborah Jannise Boles; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews.
A time of visitation will be held in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be: Dakota Goodwin, Daniel Goodwin, Matt Stroderd, and Anthony Chew.

Jim was my brother´s business partner for years at Super Price Pharmacy. (Ted Powell) I´d like to simply offer my condolences. I have great respect for Jim and I´m grateful that my brother had such a good man to work with through the years. May God bless you and yours.
