James Supitkowsky Obituary
James (Jim, Jimbo) Supitkowsky, a cherished Brother, Uncle, and Friend, passed away unexpectedly on November 27, 2024, at the age of 61. He was born on September 19, 1963, to the late Joseph and Jean (Porter) Supitkowsky.
Jim grew up in Dorchester, with his large family on Hallet Street. He was proud to be from Dorchester (OFD!). He is survived by his siblings: Joseph Supitkowsky and his wife Maureen of East Bridgewater; Jean Dibble and her husband Stephen of Salem; Judi Mahon and her husband Gerry of Braintree; Jackie Delaney and her husband Paul of Weymouth; and Joann Viselli and her husband Peter of Salem. He was predeceased by his sister Janet (Supitkowsky) Melchionda. Jim was a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart. He never missed an opportunity to show his love through thoughtful gifts and family time spent together.
Jim was a graduate of Norfolk County Agricultural High School. He then went on to serve honorably in the United States Army. After his military service, Jim continued to serve his community with the United States Postal Service, where his strong work ethic and dedication to his duties were evident to all who knew him. He developed many lifelong friendships with the residents on his route in Hyde Park.
An adventurous spirit, Jim had a passion for travel and loved spending his winters in sunny Florida and summers on Cape Cod. He found comfort in nature, often hiking the Blue Hills and was a talented landscaper who could turn a patch of soil into a work of art. Jim's love for music was profound with the 80s classic hard rock providing the soundtrack to many memorable moments in his life.
Jim was a funny, kind, and generous soul. He touched many lives with his sense of humor and quick wit. His presence and warm smile were a source of comfort to all, and his ability to listen, without judgment, made him a trusted confidant.
As we bid farewell to our Brother, Uncle and Friend, we do so with heavy hearts and gratitude for the time we were privileged to share with him..
Jim will be deeply, deeply missed.
Visiting hours will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave., Milton on Wednesday December 4th from 10:00-12:00 with a service in the Funeral Home at 12:00. Burial Cedar Grove Cemetery.

JAMES HENRY and l have been going to Eastham for 18 years.
He was satisfied with my company and he liked to go to movies, breakfast, lunch and dinner. He enjoyed cooking at the cottage and would even make snacks at 2am.
We would drive to the national seashore every day, a different one but we liked Marconi beach. If you got there after 4 it was free parking.
Our cottage was on the bay side and a five minutes walk for a dip in the bay.
When the sisters came he would clean the house so it didn't look like two bachelors were living there.
He is pictured here on the bay side

This was 2022, the pandemic was on and some decisions were being made for his welfare.
Changes at work were being made a work and supervisors were leaving and rotation of managers were frequent.
The union was his guardian in Hyde Park and his union friends that he grew up with in Dorchester played dual roles confidant and friend.
In this leap year and 36 years of love of the job and without hesitation he and I agreed to give notice of retirement.
He called his sisters.
I drove to Hyde Park to consult with his friend, coworker and union representative.
It was not final but not to be withdrawn.

It was a warm July and August with temperatures in the high 90 and brutal humidity. The Cape trip to Eastham was the last two weeks in August.
We went to lunch every day in Dedham our cafe that had keno.
He enjoyed pork chop often and the his lunch drink captain Morgan.
We got to whispering pines cottage for two weeks a first. Now retired no more one week.a hurricane cut it short by one day.
5 hours to get home.
Here is James Henry Supitkowsky pictured at the Cafe in Dedham were lunch was $11.99.

In 206, 18 years ago. Maybe more could be 25 years ago we spotted each other.
He, Jim the mailman wore the postal uniform of the United States.
There were lots of apparel and a allowance for not winter and summer which included soxs.
But breaking the apparel rules was common.
Patriots t shirts and sweat shirts and of course hoodies!
He told me the managers would say at review, you don't work for the Patriots.
But on his days off, or at least Saturday night he would visit me in a ironed shirt and pants.
Parking the bronco on the side street so no one would recognize him the mailman.
Yup, I would have supper waiting for him. Oh, he told me don't buy expensive vodka but it had to be cocca cola.
Here he is pictured standing all dressed up arriving in Lauderdale by the sea. Florida.2003.

On October 15, 2023 , jimmy called me to say we should get our tickets booked for our winter trip to fort Lauderdale.
So I drove out to 84 Business Street in Hyde Park and sat down with Jimmy and booked our flight for January 3 at 420om getting into Lauderdale at 747,pm.
He liked latter flights so I would have less traffic going to get him for the drive back to East Boston.
He enjoyed picking the seats to isle seats across from each other. The fall and winter were mild so we never had to wear long pants and on January 3 we wore shorts to the airport.
The plans were to stay through April 10.
Here is a picture of James Henry and Tammy our concierge at sea Ocean resort fort Lauderdale.

In 2023 Jim and I were invited to Lauderdale by the Sea in Florida.
The owner of the apartment would spend his winters there and his July to Octobers in Boston.
Jim and I would have lunch on Jim's day off from work with Bill while he was in Boston.
After Jimmy's retirement Bill said come on down to my place. So, we did.
Here, in the picture is JAMES HENRY Supitkowsky having lunch on the intercostal waterway in Lauderdale by the sea.

Jimmy and I drove locally every day. Often to the paved trails of the blue hill reservation to walk around Houghton pond. But there were those trips to Wollaston beach to feed the seagulls French fries. I would cook five pounds and he would sit in the passenger side of the Lincoln and toss the fries and enjoy the sound of the birds flying above. Jim would get so excited.
Here is a picture of him close up , not expecting to be photographed.

The next day I had to feed him soup and crackers. After 3 days I carried him to the car for a trip to the hospital
Hospitals and doctors and nurses gave him success and he went on to being the artist that he is known for.
