WADESBORO - On Friday, November 14, 2025, Mr. James Rodney Thomas, Jr., 65, passed away peacefully at Autumn Care of Marshville.
There will be a memorial service at 3:00 PM on Thursday, November 20, 2025, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Mr. Ken Caulder officiating.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
He was born on September 19, 1960, in Anson County, NC, and was a son of Frances Stephens Thomas McPhatter and the late James Rodney Thomas. He was a long-distance truck driver and had also worked with the Anson County Sheriff's Office under Sheriff James Sellers/ He had also been a member of the Lilesville Fire Department.
Those who are left to cherish his memory are his mother, Frances McPhatter of Wadesboro; his daughter, Felicia Wilson of Wadesboro; his grandchildren, Jacob Wilson and Abby Wilson, both of Wadesboro; his son-in-law, Daniel Wilson of Polkton; and his brothers, Dwayne (Heather) Thomas of Mt. Pleasant and Hank (Danielle) Thomas of Wilmington.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Christopher Thomas, and his brother, Mike Thomas.
James dearly loved his family and especially his grandchildren and his beloved dog, Snowflake. He also enjoyed fishing.
