James Milton Thomas Sr., 91, of Dermott, AR (affectionately known as "Boots"), passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Delta Health Medical Center in Greenville, MS. He was born on March 28, 1934, to his parents, Clarence Thomas and Velma Thomas. James was a Senior Deacon and Trustee at Woodson Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Lake Village, AR, the past President of the Broad Hunting Club in Johnsville, AR, and a former axillary deputy for the Chicot County Sheriff's Department. He was a master carpenter of all trades. "Boots" enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he loved going to church and spending time with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by wife, Mary L. Hester Thomas, three sons, James M. Thomas, Jr, Aubrey L. Thomas, and Larry L. Thomas; and one daughter, Sharon (Thomas) Plummer.

Boots is survived by two sons, David M. Thomas and Jerry D. Thomas (Cathy); one daughter, Vanecia (Thomas) Graham (Jerry); one sister, Ora L. McCree; twenty-two (22) grandchildren; forty-seven (47) great-grandchildren; five (5) great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Pallbearers are Demarcus Plummer, James Plummer, Sr, David Thomas II, Jarius Thomas, Jerry Thomas II, Quinton Thomas, Jeremy Graham, and Jalen Graham. Honorary Pallbearers are members of the Broad Hunting club.

Visitation will be from 5:30-7:00 P.M. on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Bishop-King Funeral Home Chapel. Celebration of Life will be at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Central Community Church with Reverend Charles Graham officiating. Interment will be at Woodson Temple Cemetery, HWY 65 S. Lake Village, AR, under the direction of Bishop-King Funeral Home.
