James "Jim" Wayne Thompson, a lifelong resident of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025, at the age of 71.

Born on August 22, 1953, Jim graduated from Excelsior Springs High School in 1971. He married the love of his life, Pam, in 1980, and together they built a warm and loving home. Jim was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who worked hard to support his family, retiring from a long and dedicated career at Ford Motor Company.

Jim is survived by his wife Pam; his son Jonathon, wife Jen, and their two daughters; his daughter Shannon with her daughter; and his two sisters, Sharon Carder-Jackson and Shirley Crowley with their families.

Jim's three cherished granddaughters brought him great joy. He was a proud and supportive Papa T, faithfully attending their events and cheering them on at every opportunity.

Known for his kindness and loyalty, Jim maintained lifelong friendships and had a genuine warmth that touched many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

My deepest sympathy for the entire family. Jim was a great friend & a better person. I first met Jim on a baseball field when we were young kids. We went to school together & enjoyed a good friendship. Jim, was always kind, and always, had a smile on his face. And we all, could use more kindness in this world. My thoughts and prayers go out to Jim´s entire family.

With prayers for all, Rick woods
