Linda Kay Taylor, 70, died peacefully on Oct. 3, 2025, surrounded by family. A sister, mother, and grandmother, Linda was known for her kindness and generosity as well as her fiery spirit among family and friends. Her passion was caregiving, which she pursued for a time as a certified nursing assistant. Yet it was her role as a mother and grandmother that brought her the greatest pride and joy.
Linda's love and generosity toward her family and friends were unparalleled. Whether crafting homemade gifts from the heart or cheering on her grandson at baseball games, she devoted herself to the people she loved. She was often the life of the party and cherished the friendships she built throughout her life.
In her later years, Linda enjoyed traveling with her sister and other family members, fulfilling a lifelong dream to see the world.
Born on April 29, 1955, in Kansas City, Missouri, Linda attended Excelsior Springs High School and lived in Little Rock, Arkansas, and Winter Haven, Florida. Her roots, however, remained deeply planted in Kansas City, where she spent most of her life. There, she was a loving mother to three children and a proud grandmother to three grandchildren.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Deloris Taylor and Harry Livingston, and her brother, Randy Taylor. She is survived by her children, Robert Troy, Sara Troy, and Clark Troy; her sister, Julie Johnson; her brother, John Taylor; and her grandchildren, Tyler Troy, Joseph Giordano, and Stacey Jean Troy.
