Audie Gene Twitchell, 69, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri gained his angel wings on November 15, 2025 at home with his family by his side. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Excelsior Springs from 6:00-7:30PM. A graveside service will be held on November 20, 2025 beginning at 3:00pm at Elmira Cemetery, Elmira, Missouri.
Audie was born to Fred Twitchell and Minnie Bock on January 5, 1956 in Wellington, Missouri. He was a 1975 graduate of Excelsior Springs High School.
Audie worked at Fun House Pizza, Whitaker Cable, Tabor Mill, NKC Underground Services Riverside Mo. and was also the owner of AT Roofing.
He married Kathy Anderson Twitchell on June 6, 1975 and celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Audie loved his family more than anything. He enjoyed fishing and was a certified scuba diver. He also enjoyed hunting, his Polaris 4x4 and recently how to fly his drone. All family gatherings included his great cooking.
Audie is survived by his wife Kathy, daughters Beth (Josh) Reed of Blue Springs and Katie Frost of Excelsior Springs; grandchildren, Belle Reed, Alex Reed, and Elijah Frost; brothers Fred (Christa) Twitchell and Gerald Twitchell; sister Dana Bollinger; brother-in-law Jimmy (Lori) Anderson; niece and nephews, Jeffrey, Justin, and Jace Anderson, Jennifer Young, Matthew Anderson and Luke Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Audie Wayne Twitchell and Jeremy Dale Twitchell; and brother James Twitchell.
The family wishes to express their appreciation for the care received from KU Cancer Center, KC Hospice, and Jimmy Anderson for the Salvation Prayer at his bedside.
