Ricky Clevenger Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Excelsior Springs on Mar. 5, 2026.
Ricky Eugene Clevenger, 76, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, at home surrounded by his family. A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 10:00-11:00AM at Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Excelsior Springs. There will be a Masonic service beginning at 11:00AM with a traditional funeral service to follow. A graveside will follow the service at North New Garden Cemetery, Wood Heights.

He was a devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend whose strength and quiet resilience carried him through life's challenges. Although he faced struggles with his sight, he never let it define him or stop him from doing everyday things. From playing his guitar to working on cars, he was always a phone call away to help you diagnosis the problem. His love for George Jones and his family kept him young at heart.

He faced his illness with courage and dignity, holding tight to the love of his family.

Born on January 8, 1950, in Vibbard, he spent his life working hard, loving deeply and caring for those around him. He worked for the City of Excelsior Springs for 37 years as the building maintance at the Hall of Waters. He was known for his stubbornness and phone calls to his family and friends. His presence filled a room, and he didn't know a stranger. He was a member of the Angerona Masonic Lodge #193 of Missouri City, holding many titles throughout his membership, the latest title being Master.

He is survived by the love of his life, Goshetta Clevenger of the home, his daughter and son-in-law, Kelley and Shawn Teegarden; his daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Rusty Reynolds; grandchildren, Trenton Teegarden and Ryli Cretzmeyer, Tanner and Laney Teegarden; Rusty and Baileigh Reynolds; and Rebekah Reynolds, eight great grandchildren, his brother and sister-in-law David and Kathy Clevenger, a brother in law, Ralph "Eddie" Brand and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence Eugene "Gene" Clevenger and Edith "Hope" Clevenger and Sister, Sharon Kay Brand.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Angerona Masonic Lodge #193.
