James Dudley Thorpe, III of Clay City, KY passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at his home. The husband of Lisa Marie Alonso Thorpe, he was born July 9, 1975 in Georgetown, KY to James Dudley Thorpe, Jr. & Lillie Gray Thorpe. He is survived by: wife Lisa Thorpe; parents Jimmy & Lillie Thorpe; sister Heather Turner; and nieces Aubree Thorpe, Natalia Herald, & Candice Blackburn. He was also a pet dad. In addition to working as a supervisor at Powell Valley Millwork, he was a gifted musician and artist. He was a member of bands Flat Smiley, Decades, and Jared Smith & Honkytonk Revival. He was a band family member to many. He was a jack of all trades and a master of all. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00AM Friday, July 18th at Wells Funeral Home by Bro. Mike Hagnauer. Visitation will be held Thursday night beginning at 4:00PM for family and 5:00PM for friends. Burial will follow the funeral on Friday at Thorpe Cemetery with Paul Mallory, Anthony Todd, Mike Hagnauer, Mike Charles, Ian Thorpe, & Jared Smith serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Roy Neace, Donovan Frost, Virgil Brown, Robert Long, Dusty Charles, Christopher Hallman, Kevin Ball, all his band families, and his extended family.
