James Forrest Tindell passed away October 07, 2025, after a difficult year with stage 4 cancer. His last days were at the peaceful setting of the Levine and Dickson Hospice at Aldersgate. He is now in the hands of our merciful and compassionate God.
There will be a memorial for Forrest at a later date-very likely in early-to-mid November.
Forrest was a member of First Christian Church. The service will be held there, where he also volunteered with the Dilworth Soup Kitchen, in the Dilworth neighborhood of Charlotte.
He loved to cook and was especially skilled at baking. He made homemade breads for the Dilworth Soup Kitchen and he was especially known for his wonderful cheese cakes. He loved entertaining. A friend who was new in town, said that he often invited her for dinner and made her feel loved and welcomed. He loved everything about First Christian Church and planted some beautiful flowers and several trees on the grounds. He was kind, generous, and made all of us at church feel special. He is missed by many
If you have memories or pictures to share, post them here for possible use in the service.
After so much hardship in his life, I'm grateful to say that Forrest is free. May he rest, at the last, in God's embrace.
In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Dilworth Soup Kitchen online or by mailing a check to 1200 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203.

To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
