James F. Tomasi, 93, of Reading, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Residence at Village Green in Sinking Spring. He was the husband of the late Anna C. (Cammarano) Tomasi. Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late George Tomasi and his step-mother Ceclia (Ciabattoni) Tomasi. James graduated from Central Catholic High School in Reading and attended Florida State University for two years. He proudly served his country in The United States Army during the Korean Conflict. James was one of the original owners of ATV Bakery, retiring in 2004. He attended both St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C. and St. Ignatius Loyola Church.
James was a great cook, specializing in Italian food and was well known for his homemade pizza. He enjoyed traveling with his loving wife, Anna, especially to their home country, Italy/Sicily where they visited several times. They also would travel to Aruba regularly and in later years traveled to Florida (snowbirds) frequenting Marco Island, their favorite place. James spread his warmth to all those around him, always helpful and there for everyone else. He lived his life with an attitude of "It's better to give than receive." James was not a man who wanted or needed recognition. He cared about family deeply and made that his priority. He always had a positive attitude and special sayings that would make others laugh. One of his favorites was "Every day's a holiday."
James is survived by his children; Denise A. Tomasi Bononno, of Shillington, George Tomasi, husband of Cindy, of Muhlenberg, and Annamarie Tomasi Doelp, wife of Jeff, of Sinking Spring. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Tyler, Austin, Linsey, and Alexander, his great-grandchildren; Landon, Aiden, Reagan, and Sadie, and his sisters Josephine Quaglia and Georgine Tomasi. James was predeceased by his brother Joseph Wolff.
