It is with heavy hearts but joyful memories that we celebrate the life of James Edward Tyler, who passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025. Born in the sunshine of Florida on December 4, 1948, James was a true embodiment of passion, creativity, and a spirited zest for life.

James was a man of many interests. He found joy soaring through the skies in his beloved plane, and whether casting a line on the water or getting his hands dirty restoring old tractors, he simply loved the art of tinkering. An innovator at heart, he constantly sought to explore and create, leaving a legacy of curiosity and ingenuity for his family and friends to remember.
In his own way, James left an indelible mark wherever he went.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Glenda McDougall; and his nephew, Ronald McDougall.

James was a devoted husband to Joanne Tyler and a loving father to his daughters, Vanessa (Bryan) Hale, Trina Padgett (Chris Wood), April (Jeff) Crippen, and son James A. Tyler; his grandchildren: Brooke Ice, Kristin Padgett, Heath Padgett, Bryce Hale, Ryan Hale, and Selena Büchler; his great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Memphis, Colby, Aubrielle, Braxton, River, Lakelyn, and Tyde; his sister Patsy Sadler, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, including Tracey McGuffie, Charles G. Sadler, and Jeannette McDougall.

All arrangements are under the care of Joe P. Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
